Boston and North Carolina Life Science Portfolio
At a previous firm, Celera’s principal Brian Carlisle was a principal in a programmatic joint venture with Harvard Management Company and Bain Capital Real Estate which was focused on developing and redeveloping properties into lab space for various life science users. The venture created space for such life science leaders as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Jounce Therapeutics, Life Technologies, Becton Dickinson, and Duke University School of Medicine. The venture deployed more than $200 million of equity from 2013 to 2018 and earned the limited partners a more than 3.0x return on their equity investment by the final sale in December 2020.
